Attreo is designed to assist healthcare professionals with clinical documentation. This policy ensures that the service is used ethically, legally, and in a manner consistent with professional healthcare standards.

2. Permitted Uses

Attreo may be used for:

  • Recording and transcribing legitimate medical consultations with proper patient consent
  • Generating clinical notes and documentation for patient care
  • Storing and managing clinical documentation in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Training and educational purposes within healthcare settings
  • Quality assurance and clinical audit activities
  • Integration with authorized EMR/EHR systems

3. Prohibited Uses

The following uses of Attreo are strictly prohibited:

3.1 Consent Violations

  • Recording any individual without their explicit consent
  • Recording in jurisdictions where such recording is illegal
  • Using recordings for purposes beyond those consented to by the patient
  • Failing to inform patients that a recording is taking place

3.2 Unauthorized Access and Sharing

  • Sharing login credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • Accessing another user's account without authorization
  • Sharing patient information with unauthorized parties
  • Downloading or exporting data for unauthorized purposes
  • Bypassing access controls or security measures

3.3 Misuse of Clinical Content

  • Using AI-generated clinical notes without proper review
  • Submitting clinical documentation you know to be inaccurate
  • Using the service for fraudulent billing or insurance claims
  • Creating false or misleading medical records
  • Using clinical documentation for non-medical purposes

3.4 Technical Misuse

  • Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the service
  • Uploading malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Conducting denial-of-service attacks or similar activities
  • Using automated tools to access the service without authorization
  • Interfering with other users' access to the service
  • Circumventing usage limits or billing systems

3.5 Illegal Activities

  • Any activity that violates local, national, or international law
  • Recording or documenting illegal activities
  • Using the service to facilitate healthcare fraud
  • Violating HIPAA or other healthcare privacy regulations
  • Infringing intellectual property rights

3.6 Unprofessional Conduct

  • Recording consultations for personal, non-professional use
  • Using the service in ways that violate professional ethics codes
  • Harassing or intimidating patients or colleagues
  • Using patient information for marketing without consent

4. Patient Consent Requirements

Before recording any consultation, you must:

  • Inform the patient that the consultation will be recorded
  • Explain that an AI system will process the recording to create clinical notes
  • Obtain explicit consent (verbal or written, as required by your jurisdiction)
  • Document the consent in the patient's record
  • Respect the patient's right to decline recording
  • Provide an alternative documentation method for patients who decline

5. Data Handling Requirements

When using Attreo, you must:

  • Access only the data necessary for your clinical responsibilities
  • Not download or export data except for legitimate clinical purposes
  • Report any suspected data breaches immediately
  • Follow your institution's data governance policies
  • Securely dispose of any exported data when no longer needed

6. Account Security

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • Using strong, unique passwords
  • Enabling multi-factor authentication when available
  • Logging out when using shared or public devices
  • Reporting any suspected unauthorized access immediately

7. Review and Accuracy

AI-generated clinical notes are tools to assist documentation, not replacements for clinical judgment. You must:

  • Review all AI-generated content before signing or submitting
  • Verify the accuracy of transcriptions and clinical notes
  • Make corrections as necessary
  • Take responsibility for the final content of all documentation
  • Report any systematic errors to Attreo support

8. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to:

9. Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in:

  • Warning: For minor or first-time violations
  • Temporary Suspension: For moderate violations or repeated minor violations
  • Account Termination: For serious violations or repeated moderate violations
  • Legal Action: For violations that cause harm or involve illegal activity
  • Reporting to Authorities: Where required by law or professional regulations

We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate without prior notice for serious violations.

10. Compliance Monitoring

We may monitor usage of the service to ensure compliance with this policy. This includes:

  • Automated detection of suspicious activity
  • Review of access logs
  • Investigation of reported violations
